Why Choose Us
The Croydon Orthodontic Practice has been creating healthy happy smiles for over 50 years and our specialists have treated in excess of 75000 patients in that time. We are now seeing third generations of some families who live locally and want to continue to build those family relationships well into the future.
Established by Patrick McDonogh in 1972, Croydon Orthodontic Practice has become one of the largest Orthodontic referral centres in the UK, serving the Croydon community and beyond for NHS and Private treatment. Now run by Patrick McDonogh’s son, Tim, we are proud to have in place a team of committed specialist professionals to bring the highest possible level or treatment and care to our patients.
We accept referrals via our local referring dentists, along with patients who have been our loyal supporters who send family and friends for orthodontic consultation and treatment. We also accept self referrals. The practice is conveniently located in South Croydon, very close to the main line train station and numerous bus routes.
We can provide a full range of orthodontic options including traditional metal braces, ceramic tooth coloured braces, lingual and Invisalign systems. Private treatment is available for adults and children and NHS treatment is available for eligible children. From your first phone call, to your meeting with the treatment co-ordinator and beyond we are there with you every step of the way to giving you the smile you have always wanted. Please call us with any questions about your specific needs and arrange to book your complimentary consultation.
50 years of helping Croydon smile - 100,000 smiles and counting
50 years ago, Dr John Sawyer, a Specialist Orthodontist, joined the Croydon Orthodontic Practice. Since 1972, the family-owned clinic has put patient care and the most advanced orthodontic treatments to help over 100,000 happy patients get their perfect smile.
Around 200,000 people are fitted with braces every year in Britain, and the last fifty years in orthodontics has brought huge changes to the technology used to straighten teeth. The introduction of Invisalign, as well as techniques to make traditional metal braces less painful, more effective, and less noticeable in the mouth of the patient, has taken away much of the fear and stigma of wearing braces.
We are excited to see what innovations the next fifty years will bring to orthodontics and how many more people will be able to achieve the smile they love as well as providing functional improvements in speech and eating.
“It’s amazing to see the progress and improvement in our patient’s oral health over the past 50 years. I find it really rewarding to see how we have helped people in the community, and I am very proud of everything we have achieved. Thank you to our incredible patients who have been with us on this journey, we are forever thankful for your support. It has been our pleasure to be able to treat you. We enjoy looking at you and your families!”
